Job Title: Geologist – 01 Position

Location: Shinyanga, Tanzania.
Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Follow all documented health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, with the goal of every person going home safe and healthy every day.
- Provide safety leadership to subordinates, contractors, and MRM business partners, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Supervise employees, mine contractor and business partners to maintain safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative provisions.
- Geological activities and Data Management
- Complete 3D interpretation of geological data, including sections, flitches, maps, solid modeling, and block modeling, and ensure outputs are distributed or shared to mine planning, resource, and operational teams.
- Conduct stope analysis and risk assessment, stope note, and stope closure are completed promptly, and information is shared.
- Ensure all potential areas of gold mineralization within the underground are tested by grade control and face sampling in a cost-effective manner.
- Collect and integrate lithological, structural, and geotechnical data into geological and block models.
- Ensure appropriate sample and assay quality control measures are implemented, monitored, and reported, including timely dispatch of samples to the laboratory following QA/QC protocols.
- Monitor and update production sites, underground stockpiles, and grades to support daily operations.
- Planning, Reporting, and Performance Monitoring
- Participate actively in business planning and management as a member of the mine management team.
- Liaise with technical services teams, metallurgists, surveyors, geotechnical teams, and mine operations to achieve optimal production outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver timely and accurate geological, mining, and MRM reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports), including ore body dilution, stope performance, and other technical reports.
- Provide and ensure geological key inputs to optimize mining operations, including grade control drilling, ore drive development, dilution control, and gold recovery, are effectively applied to operational planning.
- Team Leadership, Training, and Development
- Mentor, train, and supervise Geological Technicians, Assistants, and other staff in core logging, interpretation, grade control processes and other geological activities.
- Support professional development programs for mine technicians, and assistants.
- Promote continual improvement and delivery of results through effective supervision and guidance.
- Operational Support and Accountability
- Oversee drilling activities, including underground grade control drilling, business partners (drilling contractors) performance, and budget control.
- SAFE self-driving manual-transmission light vehicles is a mandatory requirement for this role to complete production activities and ensure the success of business operations.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and end-of-month geological reports, including royalty reports.
- Provide regular updates on stope performance, dilution, and geological risks to mining and management teams.
- Maintain timely delivery of all geological data, reports, and documentation.
Qualification Requirements:
- University Level Certification in Geology (BSc Geology degree)
- Hold a valid Tanzanian driving License, and Bulyanhulu mine surface and underground driving permits.
- Proven ability to independently operate manual-gear transmission light vehicles.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Good computer knowledge and skills in geology software(s) – VULCAN, SURPAC, Datamine, Micromini, Leapfrog, Datashed, and MS Office software.
- Manual-gear transmission light vehicles driving skills.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in active underground mining operations
